Bioguto nutritional yeast flakes FROMAGO – 125 g

BIOGUTO FROMAGO – INACTIVE NUTRITIONAL YEAST FLAKES WITH A RICH, SAVOURY UMAMI FLAVOUR THAT ARE EASY TO INCORPORATE INTO EVERYDAY DISHES.

FROMAGO is suitable for those who are looking for a bolder seasoning in nutritional yeast, rather than a mild flavour background. The flakes can be sprinkled into sauces, soups, pasta, vegetables, stews, salads and spreads.

The product is high in protein and fibre. Nutritional yeast naturally contains B vitamins, including folate, minerals and yeast beta-glucans. The folate in the product helps maintain normal immune system function and reduce tiredness and fatigue.

A batch of FROMAGO tested in an independent laboratory was found to contain approximately 825 mg of yeast beta-glucans per 5 g of product, or approximately 1.65 g per 10 g serving of product.

Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

FROMAGO is worth choosing when nutritional yeast is needed not only for its nutritional value but also as a rich-tasting seasoning.

These nutritional yeast flakes can be relevant when:

  • you want to give dishes a more distinct umami flavor;
  • you are looking for a cheese-like seasoning for sauces, soups, or pasta;
  • you want to supplement your daily diet with natural B-group vitamins, including folates, and minerals;
  • you are looking for an everyday food product to support the normal function of the immune system;
  • you want more non-animal protein and fiber in your diet;
  • you follow a vegan or vegetarian diet;
  • you are looking for a gluten-free product.

Due to its richer taste and higher salt content, FROMAGO is usually consumed in small quantities as a seasoning for dishes.

FROMAGO ended up on Bioguto's shelf after a search for nutritional yeast that would not only be nutritious but also give dishes a richer, deeper flavour.

We chose an autolysed inactive yeast raw material manufactured in Germany, with rice flour and sea salt.

RICH UMAMI FLAVOUR

FROMAGO yeast flakes are autolysed. During autolysis, the yeast's natural enzymes partially break down the yeast cell structures, which better reveals their characteristic rich, savory umami flavour.

FROMAGO is especially suitable for:

  • pasta;
  • vegetable dishes;
  • soups;
  • stews;
  • sauces;
  • spreads;
  • popcorn;
  • plant-based cheese-flavoured sauces.

LABORATORY-TESTED BETA-GLUCAN CONTENT

We didn't want to limit ourselves to general information about the composition of nutritional yeast, so we tested the beta-glucan content in an independent laboratory.

The tested FROMAGO batch contained approximately 825 mg of beta-glucans per 5 g of product.

NATURALLY OCCURRING VITAMINS AND MINERALS

FROMAGO naturally contains vitamins B1, B2 and B12, niacin, folate, zinc, magnesium and iron.

Vitamins and minerals are not additionally added to the product – they are naturally present in the yeast raw material.

CLEAR COMPOSITION

The product contains:

  • 65% dry inactive yeast flakes;
  • 29% rice flour;
  • 6% sea salt.

FROMAGO has more salt than NEUTRALO, so you usually need less of it. It is more suitable as a rich seasoning than a neutral ingredient in a dish.

The product is not made from GMOs or using GMOs.

GLUTEN-FREE

The product contains neither gluten-containing cereals nor their possible traces.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FROMAGO AND NEUTRALO?

Both products are inactive nutritional yeast flakes, but these are not just two different flavours of the same product. There are also differences in the yeast processing method, salt, and beta-glucan content.

What are autolyzed yeast flakes?

These are inactive yeast flakes whose cell structures are partially broken down by the yeast's own natural enzymes. This process enhances the rich, savory umami flavor.

How do autolyzed yeast flakes differ from regular nutritional yeast?

Regular nutritional yeast is inactivated, but its cell structure remains less broken down, resulting in a generally milder flavor. During autolysis, the yeast's cells are partially broken down by the yeast's own natural enzymes, giving FROMAGO a richer and more pronounced flavor.

Is FROMAGO active yeast?

No. FROMAGO no longer leavens dough or causes fermentation.

Is the product suitable for vegans?

Yes, the product is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Does FROMAGO contain gluten?

No. The product does not contain gluten-containing ingredients, and no traces of gluten are indicated.

How many beta-glucans are in FROMAGO?

An independent laboratory analysis of a product batch found approximately 825 mg of beta-glucans per 5 g of product, or approximately 1.65 g per 10 g of product.

Are vitamins added to the product?

No. B vitamins, folates, and minerals are naturally present in the raw yeast material.

Why does FROMAGO contain more salt?

Sea salt contributes to the product's distinct savory flavor. Therefore, FROMAGO is best used in small quantities as a seasoning for dishes.

Can FROMAGO be heated?

Yes. However, to preserve more heat-sensitive nutrients, it is recommended to stir the flakes in at the end of cooking or sprinkle them on already prepared food.

How does FROMAGO differ from NEUTRALAS?

FROMAGO flakes are autolyzed, giving them a richer umami flavor. They also contain more salt and approximately twice as many beta-glucans in the tested batch.

NEUTRALAS is milder, less salty, and more versatile for porridges, smoothies, and other family meals.
